Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT)

Full-time 9 am – 5 pm & 3-11 pm shift

Intake Process

  • Application Review: Screen applications to identify qualified candidates.
  • Initial Contact and Pre-Screening: Conduct brief phone or video calls to assess candidates’ interest and basic suitability.
  • Formal Interview: Perform in-depth interviews to evaluate candidates’ skills, cultural fit, and motivations.
  • Skills Assessment: Administer practical tests or tasks to measure candidates’ job-specific abilities.
  • Reference and Background Checks: Verify candidates’ professional history and credentials through references and background checks.

Position Description

Essential Duties

  1. Evaluate and Provide Training in Daily Living Skills: Assess residents’ needs and provide training in personal hygiene, grooming, housekeeping, laundry, meal planning, money management, socialization, and recreational activities, tailored to each individual’s requirements.
  2. Assist with Daily Schedules: Support residents in creating and adhering to daily schedules, including household chores, social activities, appointments, and meetings.
  3. Complete Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required documentation, including progress reports, shift reports, incident reports, medication records, and other relevant forms.
  4. Monitor Living Facility Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of the living facility to ensure a safe, clean, and healthy environment for residents, performing cleaning duties and assisting residents with room upkeep as needed.
  5. Ensure Wellness and Safety: Monitor residents to ensure their wellness and safety, responding promptly to medical or behavioral emergencies according to established procedures.
  6. Supervise Medication Administration: Oversee and assist residents in medication administration in accordance with program guidelines.
  7. Participate in Staff Meetings: Attend and actively contribute to staff meetings, collaborating with colleagues to plan resident care and program activities.
  8. Plan and Supervise Recreational Activities: Assist in planning and supervising recreational and social activities for residents, promoting engagement and community integration.
  9. Assist with Meal Preparation: Plan menus, assist with meal preparation, and monitor residents with special dietary needs as required. Attend and participate in any staffing’s as requested.
  10. Communication and Reporting: Immediately report any medical/behavioral issues or emergencies or other unusual incidents to Program Manager, Director, QIDP, and Nurse- RNT.


Qualifications – Education or Equivalent

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. RBT Certification: Completion of a 40-hour training program and confirmed passing of the RBT Competency Assessment.
  3. Completion of DSP training and passing the TABE test prior to hire.
  4. Completion of Safety Care training required.
  5. Completion of CPR and First Aid training required.
  6. Completion of DHS 8-hour Medication Administration training required.
  7. Minimum of one year’s experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
