Volunteers are always welcome at Shore. Volunteering provides a way to give back to your community. Your time and talent is special and does make a difference in the lives that you touch.

Chaperone
Help staff with individuals on outings.
Classroom Assistant
Assist staff in adult groups at Shore’s Lois Lloyd Center.
Cleaning
Help clean Shore’s facilities.
Employment Opportunities
Help individuals obtain outside jobs.
General Mailing
Help development office to stuff, seal and sort large mailings.
Handyman
Building repair, painting and upkeep.
Landscaping
Assist with gardening and other outside projects.
Lunchroom Supervisors
Assist individuals at lunch with serving, clean-up and socializing.
Major Gifts
Assist Shore in developing relationships with businesses, foundations and individuals for support.
Newsletter
Assist with writing articles, taking photographs.
One-on-One Fundraising
Personally ask businesses, foundations and individuals for support.
Production Helper
Assist at Training Center weekdays with on-going work training projects and quality control.
Shore Joseph Koenig, Sr. Training Center
Help with eCycle, Shore’s electronic recycling business. Volunteers can also help with one day Community Recycling events throughout the year.
Silent and Live Auction
Solicit items from retailers for spring benefit or golf outing.
Skills Advisor
Use your special talents to teach individuals skills such as balancing a checkbook, cooking, crafts, etc.
Spring Benefit and Golf Outing
Assist at the actual event by selling raffle tickets, helping at checkout, and other activities.
Knights of Columbus’ Annual Tootsie Roll Drive in September
Help can at area stores in Northbrook and Skokie. The fundraising drive is in mid-September each year. Shore receives support from local councils for assisting with this drive.
